I’ve been lucky enough to play tennis for over 20 years, and I truly believe it’s one of the most rewarding sports out there—when you have the right mindset. Growing up surrounded by competition, I’ve seen both the thrill and the toll it can take. For a long time, I thought I was battling opponents across the net, but I eventually realized the toughest competition was in my own head.
Tennis is a sport anyone can learn—grasp the technique, drill the footwork—but sticking with it through the frustration, the missed shots, and the tough days takes real grit. That’s why I bring a lot of positive energy and encouragement to every practice. To me, the most important part of learning anything is enjoying it. If you’re having fun, you’ll keep showing up—and that’s when the magic happens.
College player summary
I think for a lot of athletes, after doing something for so long the sport can start to feel stale and monotonous, and you may lose a little motivation. I was definitely one of those people. I played singles and doubles at a Division 2 University in Pennsylvania on athletic scholarship all four years. While 2 of my eligible years were cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic, my perspective around tennis shifted. Everyone was isolated, but I was lucky enough to have a wall that I could hit against every day for hours just to have something to do. I felt extremely fortunate for my health at that time and wanted to make it a point when we finally got to play our first match in 2021 to enjoy the last time I had with my team, win or lose, I’m going to come off the court in a good mood! We only played 10 conference matches total the last 2 years of college and my amazing doubles partner and I finished with a 8-2 record. Anyway, I graduated college still enjoying my sport, so that’s a win for me!

post graduation
I graduated University with a BS in Computer Science in 2021, and took a break from tennis to work as a software engineer developing internal financial web applications. I love to learn new technologies and work on both professional and personal projects in my spare time!
Interests
Besides tennis and tech, I enjoy most outdoor activities – hiking, biking, snowboarding, skiing, rock climbing, camping. More deeply I love connecting with passionate and positive people

So patient and really broke down the moves for me. As someone who is not at all that coordinated, I appreciate understanding the swing bit by bit. She used fun analogies too which is helpful for learning something new!
